TIRANA, July 21/ATA/ The Civil Emergency units, the workers of the Public Services Enterprise, the workers of the Bulgarec Municipal Unit and the Forest Service Directorate have been working on the ground to bring the fire that has engulfed the mountainous area of the village of Dishnica under control.
Mayor of Korça Sotiraq Filo said that the fire continues to be active, while the steep terrain is making it difficult to intervene from the ground.
“The relevant units are operating with maximum intensity to avoid the further spread of the flames and to protect forest areas, homes and the lives of the local residents,” said Filo, who added that there are suspicions of deliberate arson attack, a rather serious act that damages nature, property and public safety.
Mayor Sotiraq Filo appealed for cooperation and immediate reporting by the community for any suspicious case. “Only together can we prevent such damage,” said Filo. /j.p/p.s./
