TIRANA, July 14 /ATA/ At a meeting focused on local performance as part of the “Albania 2030” vision, Prime Minister Edi Rama announced that work is underway to implement a new fuel supply system.
“In partnership with the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure we are in the middle of developing a new fuel supply system. It is both a necessity and an opportunity to transition to a model where the state plays a leading role in managing contracts and fuel supply,” Rama said.
Prime Minister Rama emphasized, “We believe that this will bring about much more effective control over both pricing and the entire fuel distribution system.”
Rama also spoke about the approach to property.
“It is time for the state and government to take on a new role in the economy—one that creates success by becoming a partner and stakeholder. For this reason, if you look closely, we have changed the entire approach to property, positioning the state as an owner that does not transfer ownership of assets but takes its share on behalf of the citizens,” Rama said.
Addressing the issue of medicine supply, Rama said, “We are working with the Ministry of Health and Social Protection on the supply of medicines for the entire system—both public and private—with the state once again playing a central role as a partner and key actor.”
