TIRANA, July 7 (ATA) – Doctors at Koço Gliozheni University Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital in Tirana have successfully performed a complex surgery on a mother diagnosed with the rare and dangerous placenta accreta condition.

The patient, Linda Isaj, who recently gave birth to her third child, faced serious health risks due to the condition. The patient had two previous cesarean deliveries and faced considerable risks during this pregnancy due to the rare diagnosis.

The multidisciplinary medical team managed significant blood loss and maintained vital functions throughout the procedure.

Health Minister Albana Koçiu took the social media on Monday to praise the team’s professionalism and called the case a “success filled with emotion.”

The complex surgery required a multidisciplinary approach involving urologists, surgeons, and pathologists from other hospitals alongside the Koço Gliozheni maternity staff.

Linda Isaj, who works at the Albanian Telegraphic Agency (ATA), expressed deep gratitude to the medical team, saying they gave her a “second life.”

The Albanian Telegraphic Agency extends its gratitude to the medical team for their exceptional professionalism and dedication, which enabled the successful completion of this challenging operation, and to all healthcare workers committed to serving mothers and children.
