TIRANA, June 25 /ATA/ The State Police representative, in its capacity as the president of the Southeast Europe Police Chiefs Association (SEPCA) for 2025, led the proceedings of the Regional Assembly in the city of Berat.
During the speech he delivered to this Assembly, Director General of the State Police Ilir Proda stated that, “The regional police cooperation is no longer simply a need, but is now essential for security and stability in our region and beyond”.
Proda expressed his conviction that it would be in the interest of the common struggle for the Kosovo Police to be a member of this regional initiative.
He emphasized that, “SEPCA has shown over the years to be a strategic platform for cooperation between the police forces of Southeast Europe, a bridge that connects our experiences, strengthens coordination and supports security”.
“This Assembly is more than a discussion forum, it is an opportunity for reflection, for inspiration and for concrete commitments, to face the new security challenges with determination and a shared vision”, said Proda.
Head of the State Police underlined that in face of organized crime, police forces must certainly be well-organized.
“This is the reason why the Albanian State Police is fully committed to build real partnerships, to strengthen the rapid exchange of information, to guarantee coordinated action with all our regional and international partners”, he said.
“Crime knows no borders. Organized crime, drug trafficking, migrant smuggling, human trafficking, terrorism, financial and cybercrime are now global challenges and we can only face them together”, said Proda. Therefore, he added, “we believe that the response to these challenges must be comprehensive, coordinated and sustainable”.
Proda emphasized that, “This requires more than ordinary measures; it requires vision, it requires leadership and above all, mutual trust.”/gj.m//r.e//a.f/p.s./
