TIRANA, June 22 /ATA/ The wildfire that broke out a day earlier on the olive-covered hills of Pilur, Himara, has flared up again. Given the challenging terrain, aerial firefighting efforts with a helicopter were launched today.
Fanned by the wind, the fire has advanced, burning shrubs and trees in the area and spreading further up the mountainside.
Since midday yesterday, firefighting forces from Himara, along with police officers, municipal workers, and civil emergency teams, have been working tirelessly to extinguish the blaze.
The difficult terrain has made it impossible to intervene from the hilly area, prompting the deployment of a helicopter, which began operations this morning.
