TIRANA, June 21 /ATA/ – Speaker of Parliament Elisa Spiropali met Friday with European Parliament rapporteur for Albania, Andreas Schieder, following the NATO Parliamentary Assembly in Brussels.
Spiropali thanked Schieder and MEPs in the Foreign Affairs Committee and the EU-Albania Stabilisation and Association Committee for their support, calling Albania a frontrunner among candidate countries on the path to EU membership.
Parliament Speaker reiterated Albania’s commitment to wrapping up accession negotiations by 2027 and joining the EU within this decade.
“Albania’s Parliament is working closely with the European Parliament and with legislatures of all 27 member states to deliver on our national objective; closing the accession negotiations by 2027 and joining the EU within this decade,” Spiropali stated.
