Cybersecurity is more critical than ever and cooperation is key to building resilient digital systems. The EU has supported Albanian authorities countering cyberattacks through the EU-funded “Cybersecurity Rapid Response” for the Western Balkans countries, implemented by Estonia’s e-Governance Academy.
Launched after the 2022 cyberattacks in the region, this initiative strengthens cyber resilience through expert training, consultancy, and the delivery of advanced cybersecurity software to enhance Albania’s ability to detect and respond to cyber threats efficiently.
“Albania has made remarkable progress in strengthening their cyber-security capacities thanks to the EU support. Cyber-security is a top EU priority. Our strong partnership with Albania based on expertise of Estonia’s e-Governance Academy is boosting regional cyber resilience, technical capacity, and cooperation at a critical time,” said EU Ambassador following today’s meeting with Head of the National Agency for Information Society (AKSHI), Mirlinda Karçanaj, and the Head of the National Cyber Security Authority (AKSK), Igli Tafa.
