TIRANA, May 30 /ATA/ The European Commission will open all negotiation chapters with our country in the month of June.
The news was announced by the EU Commissioner for Enlargement, Marta Kos, at the conference of the Center for European Studies in Brussels.
“Certainly, during my term as Commissioner for Enlargement, the European Union will welcome new member states from the Western Balkans. We have reached a deal with PM Edi Rama. While I consistently emphasize that this process must be merit-based, we have mutually agreed to advance the long-anticipated integration of Albania into the European Union. In June, we will open another cluster of negotiation chapters with Albania, thereby completing the opening of all chapters. Following this milestone, the process of closing the chapters will commence, another critical phase in the EU accession journey,” stated Commissioner Marta Kos.
Kos said that she cited Albania because, in her view, remarkable progress is being made on integration reforms, driven by the combined efforts of both citizens and political leaders./TVKLAN/sm/
