TIRANA, May 9/ATA/ Speaker of the Parliament Elisa Spiropali participated and greeted today the ceremony of the European University of Tirana extending the “Honoris Causa” award to former president Alfred Moisiu for outstanding qualities in public life.
Expressing her appreciation for the former president, Spiropali said that, “Alfred Moisiu belongs to the rare people from the generation of anti-fascists and partisans of the National Liberation War”.
“There could not be a more beautiful, more significant, more inspiring day. May 9 is Europe Day, which this year marks its 75th anniversary,” said Spiropali, adding that Europe Day coincides with Victory Day over Fascism, which this year marks its 80th anniversary.
“Alfred Moisiu shared the time of World War Two with his father, Spiro Moisiu. Then, father and son joined the ranks of the partisan brigades”, said Spiropali. /k.s/j.p/p.s./
