Rama: May 11 represents a vote for EU

TIRANA, May 6 /ATA/ Prime Minister and SP chairman Edi Rama was in Kavaja today to present key achievements in major sectors and the challenges facing Albania on its path to EU integration by 2030.
In his speech, Rama praised the Socialist Party’s candidates for Kavaja, emphasizing that the SP “chooses the strongest horse to pull the wagon of works faster.”
Rama urged Kavaja to support the Socialist Party, saying it has strong candidates who can strengthen the city’s representation in Parliament and contribute to Albania’s EU future. He framed the upcoming vote as a historic opportunity for Kavaja to align with progress and emphasized that elections are about choosing the most capable leaders to carry the country forward.

Rama mocked the opposition, suggesting that true Democrats shouldn’t support a confused and ineffective leader who, in his view, only hinders progress, adding that slogans like “Make Kavaja Great” are meaningless and should be dismissed.

Rama described May 11 as a historic opportunity for the country and for the European Union integration process.
Rama called EU integration a historic opportunity, saying the EU has finally opened its doors out of mutual interest, but warned that Albania must act quickly to conclude negotiations by 2027, as such chances may not last.
Rama said, “We are still foreigners to Europe, and this is something we can only change ourselves.”
Rama stated, “This requires strength and unity; you must look at the past through the eyes of the future, not look to the future through the eyes of the ‘swamp owl.’ You must see the red-and-black flag, not the color of the swamp’s water. You must recognize in others a greater power, because together we share the conviction that we are the descendants of Skanderbeg, Ismail Qemali, and all those who carried the legacy of the European destiny of the Albanians.”
