TIRANA, April 23 /ATA/ The DP chairman Sali Berisha presented the parliamentary candidates for the DP – Alliance for a Great Albania in the Tirana district at a meeting held in the Vora and Kashar areas today.
Berisha said that this coalition presents a program and a project designed to create new opportunities for every citizen.
“We are a party rooted in the finest traditions. Conservative parties are not driven by ideology; they are based on the fundamental values of humanity and society. As such, we stand for the core values of the Albanian people and Albania itself. In this sense, in our society and for our nation, just as in every civilized nation, the cornerstone of everything is the family. This is why we present a project centered around the Albanian family—whether in Vora, Kashar, Domje, Bërxullë, Prezë, Marikaj, Gjikaj, Balaq, or anywhere else,” said Berisha.
Berisha stated, “A nation can only be strong if its families are strong. A family is strong when it is built on strong morals and well-being.”
“Naturally, I am not here to be a judge or a moral police, but there are certain values that are universal for every Albanian. I believe that mutual respect between husband and wife, and the love among family members for one another, represent the highest form of morality for both individuals and society.”
“I am a strong believer that no woman, no mother, no sister, regardless of who they are, would want or accept their son, husband, or parent to be insulted,” he continued.
The leader of the Democratic Party stated that the contending parties seek to undermine the family and its values through their political campaigns, thereby diverting attention from the fundamental issues faced by Albanian families. “Albanian families are looking for political parties to present a concrete plan outlining the actions they will take to strengthen the family unit. The Albanian family does not need to hear debates about the character of the husband. What it needs is substantial economic support, ensuring that pensioners are not a financial burden. They should receive at least 200 euros, which would allow them to manage their lives more effectively,” emphasized Berisha.
