TIRANA, March 10 /ATA/ – Albania’s inflation rate was estimated at 1.9% in February 2025, down from 2.6% in the same period of the previous year, the National Institute of Statistics (INSTAT) said on Monday.
INSTAT said in its latest Consumer Price Index report that the monthly inflation change is 0.3% compared to the previous month of January.
Food, non-alcoholic beverages, clothing and footwear rose 2.8% year-on-year, whereas rents, water, fuel and energy prices increased 0.4 % compared to the same period of the past year.
On the other hand, transport prices fell 2.2 % in February 2025.
Meat increased by 4.0 %, followed by vegetables, including potatoes, which rose 3.2 %, milk, cheese and eggs edged up 2.8 %, sugar, jam honey, syrup, chocolates and sweets increased 1.7%, fish 1.1 %.
Food and non-alcoholic beverages group increased 0.9% compared to the previous month of January 2025.
