TIRANA, March 8 /ATA/-By Maela Marini/ – Prime Minister Edi Rama has underlined his Socialist Party’s leadership in advancing the justice system reform and commitment to combat high-level corruption, saying the ruling Socialists will clean their own house from anyone seeking to wining at others’ expense.
Addressing a meeting with women and girls to mark the International Women’s Day on Saturday, the government head stated that the fight against corruption in Albania is stronger than ever before.
“Just like you take care and continuously clean your houses, we will clean our own house and will make sure that anyone seeking to take advantage at someone else expense they should end up right where they deserve to. This is our only path,” PM Rama said.
PM Rama reacted to the media and opposition-fueled rumors and speculations anytime a Socialist official faces corruption charges.
“The political and media swamp explode anytime an individual with links to SP political power becomes subject of the fight against corruption. However, it takes just a little patience and reason to realize that what is now happening is all thanks to SP,” PM Rama said.
According to him, the allegations driven by opposition are widely discussed in the media, reflecting the country’s long history of politically motivated disinformation.
Highlighting benefits from the country’s EU membership, PM Rama called on Albanian citizens to back Socialists for their tenth consecutive election victory, voicing confidence that Socialist Party will win one million votes in the May parliamentary elections.
