Rama: We addressed issues in Albanian language teaching, extra recognition for special education teachers

TIRANA, March 7 /ATA/-By Maela Marini/ Prime Minister Edi Rama highlighted educational policies designed to assist children with special needs, addressing a significant and longstanding gap.

During the ceremony to honour teachers who have made valuable contributions to Albanian education on the occasion of March 7th, Teacher’s Day, Rama particularly praised the army of special education teachers.

“They deserve gratitude and respect like all other teachers, but they also deserve extra recognition for the level of difficulty in their daily work,” said Rama.

Prime Minister Rama also highlighted the efforts to elevate Albanian language education to a new level.

“We have managed to significantly awaken the previously dormant structure of the education system that addresses the issue of the Albanian language. This would have been totally impossible without the will and motivation of the Albanian language teachers, who I hope and wish will feel the increased appreciation from our side,” said Rama.

The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of teaching the Albanian language in times like today, when the written language is threatened by technology.

According to him, career guidance is also a challenge in itself, and significant steps have been taken in this direction.
