Berisha: DP does not join votes with Rama for any measure against justice system

TIRANA, February 26/ATA/ Chairman of the Democratic Party Sali Berisha stated today at the meeting of his Parliamentary group that the DP will not join votes with Prime Minister Edi Rama in adopting any kind of measure against the justice system.

“I must make it crystal clear to the Albanians that this party will never join votes with Edi Rama for any kind of measure against the justice system”, said Berisha.

Berisha reiterated that Albania, “cannot and should not have a political prosecution”, but this, the leading democrat added, “will not be done in any other way than through the Venice Commission”.

“This will be done through reform and in no case by transforming the Parliamentary group into a prosecutor, nor into a lawyer, and even less so, a party that claims to fight with zero tolerance against corruption, to join with anyone in defense of corruption”, said Berisha.

“They should never think that they can carry out even the smallest action with the support of the opposition”, added Berisha.

Berisha warned Rama that, “If the justice institutions are surrounded, then he will be surrounded”.

“We have absolutely zero tolerance for crime and corruption and an excellent program for Albanians,” Berisha concluded. /j.p/p.s./
