TIRANA, Feb 19 /ATA/ The DP chairman Sali Berisha told a press statement today from the party’s headquarters that Chris LaCivita’s company has no role or commitment for lobbying purposes, emphasizing that the collaboration is solely related to electoral matters.
When asked about a possible lobbying effort by Chris LaCivita’s company with the Trump administration to lift the “designation” status, Berisha stated that such a thing could not happen.
Berisha said, “The company contracted for the elections has no role or connection as a lobbying firm, as such activities are regulated by a different legal framework in its home country, and I thank you for the reminder. However, if you recall the first conference I held after the one at ‘Rogner,’ I clarified that this company has no authority or involvement in any lobbying efforts.”
Berisha also announced that the Democratic Party will conduct a full audit of the U.S. funds that have been used in Albania.
Berisha stated, “The initial audits in the U.S. confirm that American taxpayers’ money was used to enrich the corrupt elites of the far left in other countries around the world.”
Berisha stated, “I guarantee the Albanian citizens that a thorough audit, with the assistance of top Albanian and American experts, will be carried out regarding all these abuses, and those accountable will face the appropriate legal consequences.”
Berisha also urged the FBI “to prioritize an investigation in Albania to expose all significant abuses at the highest levels of the Albanian government involving American taxpayers’ funds.”
