TIRANA, Dec 10 /ATA/-By Maela Marini/ – Albania is set to become the first country in the region to build a new, fully transparent and 90% AI-based model for public procurement, Prime Minister Edi Rama affirmed on Tuesday.
In his speech at the regional conference “Shaping the Future of GovTech,” PM Rama underlined that introduction of the advanced digital technology would take transparence and accountability to an unmatchable level.
The government head stated that the use of artificial intelligence (AI) marks a new stage in the fight against corruption in the country, saying that the SIGMA Monitoring report ranked Albania a regional leader in the region for public procurement reform.
“It is about an innovative AI-driven project to deliver on public procurement. We have already embarked on a completely different stage of the public procurement, as the EU progress report clearly noted this year,” he said.
Rama voiced confidence that once the AI-driven model for public procurement in place and fully operational during the Socialist Party’s fourth term in office, Albania will become the first country in the region to build fully transparent model for 90% of public procurement processes.
