Participation of ambassadors in meetings with Diaspora, Bardhi: Penal complaint to SPAK

TIRANA, October 27/ATA/ Chairperson of the Parliamentary Group of the Democratic Party in opposition Gazment Bardhi appreciated the participation of Albanian ambassadors in the meetings held by Prime Minister Edi Rama with the Diaspora as a serious violation because, according to him, they are political meetings.

Therefore, Bardhi said that he is going to issue a criminal complaint in SPAK against Edi Rama, Taulant Balla, the ambassadors who have been identified so far in party/election activities and their respective diplomatic staffs.

“The political activities of Edi Rama and Taulant Balla abroad have confirmed the merging of the state with the party. This is so evident, that even the ambassadors in the USA, the United Nations, Italy, Germany, Greece, the Czech Republic, etc., in brutal violation of the law, have participated in party activities with Albanian nationals living abroad, abusing their function, defaming the image of the representative of the Albanian state in the world, as well as undermining the equality of the parties in the elections”, said Bardhi.

Bardhi said that the President of the Republic has the responsibility to intervene immediately to hold responsible before the law every ambassador who, in brutal violation of the law, has organized and participated in the political activity of the chairman of the Socialist Party and the Political Leader for the Diaspora of the Socialist Party in context of the upcoming Parliamentary elections.

“This is a crime punishable with 3 years in prison by the Penal Code. According to the law, Prime Minister Edi Rama and Minister Taulant Balla are penally responsible for using state human resources for elections and ambassadors and their diplomatic staffs for participating in political activities”, he stated. /a.f/p.s./
