Rama in Elbasan: Vocational education, absolute guarantee of a job in labor market

TIRANA, September 20/ATA/ Prime Minister Edi Rama was today at the vocational school of the city of Elbasan, where there are 1,400 students attending, 8% more registrations in the 10th grade than last year.

Prime Minister Rama estimated that these optimistic figures imply breaking the mentality that vocational education is like the second division in sports.

“The good news is that the mentality that vocational education is a low category level is being broken. Vocational education is an absolute guarantee to have the means in your hand so you don’t run out of work. Likewise, those who attend vocational education do not have the door of the university closed, but unlike those who finish general education, they also have a craft that they use to work during the university or after the university to start their own business”, Rama added.

According to the Prime Minister, it is a big change also due to the fact that businesses now can do nothing without qualified employees, so they must understand that the work should be well-paid as it deserves.

“Now, the wages have increased and there is a desperate need for qualified workers. All those who aim for professional education can certainly find a job”, added Rama.

The prime minister emphasized that the factor of economic growth also has an impact.

“The economy grows and the need for qualified employees increases, especially in the field of technology. With skills in technology, you are employed abroad without moving from home and receive salaries that are very high depending on what you offer. They are 17-18 years old who have salaries equal to the whole family together”, said Rama.

The vocational school of Elbasan has a variety of study programs that respond to the needs of the labor market; such as ICT, Hospitality-Tourism, Business Economy, Thermo-Hydraulics, Textiles, Confections, Transport Services, Mechanics, Electrotechnics, etc. It is also implementing the Dual System, where there are currently around 300 businesses that offer teaching practice for all students. /p.s./
