TIRANA, July 25/ATA/ Minister of State for Relations with the Parliament Elisa Spiropali stated today that the local elections in Himara are not a political matter, but a problem-solving matter of the problems of the local residents of a wonderful province.
Spiropali took the floor today in the Assembly to react to MP Vangjel Dule, head of the Unity for Human Rights Party. Dule said that, “President Begaj violated the Constitution by blindly following Prime Minister Edi Rama’s order to decree the date of the elections in Himara, at a time when the process for the elected-mayor Fredi Beleri continues.” According to Dule, the Himara community is being held hostage and their right to elect the mayor is not being respected.
Spiropali said in her reaction that the municipality of Himara deserves a mayor who knocks on the doors of the citizens to solve their problems, and not the problems of the mayor’s hidden patrons.
“The elections for the municipality of Himara are not a political referendum, but they are local elections, for the residents of the municipality of Himara, the Vlora River and the wonderful villages of the coast”, said Spiropali.
“The elections in Himara are not elections to divide the minority and the Albanians, but they are elections to unite all the free and proud citizens of that region around the solutions for the municipality of Himara. The elections for the municipality of Himara are not elections to divide pieces of land and internal or external zones of influence, but are elections to put those lands, that wonderful coast and those mountains into the function of development of that whole wonderful region”, said Spiropali.
“For the municipality of Himara, we have chosen a candidate who knows how to do the job, knows how to be for everyone and knows how to be a representative of Albanians and Greeks and all the citizens of this region whom we see as free citizens of the Republic of Albania and residents of Himara region, Vlora River, Lukova and all that municipalities that are part of the municipality of Himara”, Spiropali emphasized.
“With Himara’s elections, we do neither internal nor external politics, but we will give solutions to Himara people for their local problems, beyond any influences that have turned this electoral battle into a senseless war of influences, something which does not do any honor to those who make them, to those who have nominated people with records there, to those who keep out the rope of divisions for the municipality of Himara. With Vangjel Tavo, the municipality of Himara will have a mayor who does not knock on the doors of hidden patrons or bosses, but only on the doors of the residents of the municipality of Himara, to ask for their trust and vote and give them the deserved services”, concluded Minister Spiropali. /r.e/p.s./
