TIRANA, July 2 /ATA/ Minister of Defense, Niko Peleshi, announced through social media that the troops of the Southern Infantry Regiment will serve for a period of 6 months in Novo Selo, Bulgaria, under the command of the Italian Armed Forces.
Peleshi said that “Albanians will serve alongside their NATO colleagues to guarantee the security of the Alliance’s borders.”
Peleshi said he was proud of the Albanian military serving on international security missions, underlining Albania’s commitment to the alliance.
“Albanian contingents handed over their duties to each other in the NATO battalion group in Bulgaria, where they serve alongside their colleagues for the security of the Alliance’s borders.
“The troops of the Southern Infantry Regiment will serve for a 6-month period in NovoSelo, under the command of the Italian Armed Forces,” Peleshi emphasizes.
