TIRANA, June 28/ATA/ Prime Minister Edi Rama pointed today at the political games that are being played in Himara with people’s minds and hearts.
During the handing over of the property titles to the local residents of Dhërmi, Rama said that, “I never imagined that I would live the day when Himara would be divided by some people into ‘ours and theirs’.
“Himara people have historically been Himara people in the first place. They even wanted to make a republic on their own here. Himara is here, while some people say that Himara is with Tirana and some others it is with Athens. I say, these are part of the political games”, said Rama.
“Himara belongs to the people of Himara. And all those who live in Himara are citizens of the Republic of Albania. They are all equal and it doesn’t happen that some are more equals than others”, he added.
Rama underlined that, “Himara has a very rich history and has an inseparable history”.
“What does Vangjel Dule in Himara? In the quality of a citizen of the Republic of Albania, like everyone else he can be there. But, with what right does he incite division and speak absurdities and nonsense, which have nothing to do with the daily life of Himara people, nor with the daily life of Albanians, nor with the daily life of Greeks, nor with Albania. In fact, what he says are only related to the goals of some very ordinary people who have interests of division and they come from the darkest times of history”, he added.
According to him, “One cannot use and abuse with Himara”.
The prime minister said that everyone can carry whichever flag they like at home, but the flag of this Republic is honored and respected only by working every day for this country and for the people./p.s./
