Albania, Kosovo explore ways to boost cooperation in agriculture and rural development

TIRANA, June 28 /ATA/ – The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Anila Denaj on Friday paid an official visit to Kosovo, where she was hosted by the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development, Faton Peci.

At their meeting, Denaj and Peci discussed ways to further strengthen bilateral cooperation and exchanges in agriculture and food security.

In a joint press statement after the meeting, Denaj noted that the two countries can share their experience and expertise.

“I think that Albania’s experience in the last months or over the past few years with the so-called screening process can best serve Kosovo in the future,” Denaj said.

Denaj highlighted the potential for increased trade exchanges between the two countries.

Kosovo’s Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development Faton Peci said that talks focused on ways to boost cooperation in agriculture, rural development and food security, as well as the expertise sharing between the two countries.

“Food security is part of the national security. We are committed to enhance trade exchanges and production between the two countries,” Peci said, adding that agricultural exchanges between Albania and Kosovo have increased significantly in the last three years.
