Tabaku: Anticorruption Commission duplicates National Integration Council

TIRANA, June 21 /ATA/ The Democratic Party MP, Jorida Tabaku, reacted in connection with today’s meeting of the Special Parliamentary Commission “For the deepening of reforms for good governance, the rule of law and anti-corruption for Albania 2030 in the European Union” where the opposition was again absent.

The chairperson of NCEI and the Commission of European Affairs wrote on social media that this commission duplicates the National Integration Council as it has not only appropriated all the staff of NCEI but also the functions and power of this Council.

But, according to her, the real problem of this commission is that it seeks to control the experts of the independent institutions through the chairman of the commission Xhafaj.
“The integration process and the fight against corruption do not need either propaganda or big words. It requires the commitment that unfortunately has been lacking and that could have been done every day for 11 years and must be done every day,” Tabaku wrote, noting that the establishment of joint work groups with institutions that are and should be independent , under this commission, which is more one-party, infringes the independence of independent institutions.
