TIRANA, June 21 /ATA/ The Ministry of Interior announced on Friday that a meeting was held in Kukës to discuss measures to prevent, step up cooperation and manage wildfires during summer in forest areas and pastures.
According to the press release, the meeting focused on several key points, such as increasing cooperation between the county’s structures to cope with wildfires during summer; strengthening preventive and response measures to manage potential wildfires in forests and pastures, based on the guidelines of the Directorate of Fire Protection and Rescue (MZSH); improving the preparedness of the response force, including personnel, vehicles, and fire intervention equipment; the installation and operation of temporary fire stations in coastal tourist areas, to ensure preparedness during the tourist season.
The Ministry of Interior clarifies that the General Directorate of Fire Protection and Rescue is coordinating meetings with local authorities and law enforcement agencies in 12 prefectures of the country, in an effort to take the necessary preventive measures to reduce the risk of fires in this critical season.
