TIRANA, June 11/ATA/ Prime Minister Edi Rama, at the same time chairman of the Socialist Party, announced today that the Electoral Congress of the SP will convene on July 20.
The National Assembly of the SP has focused on the re-energization process and the organization of the Electoral Congress of the SP.
Rama emphasized that, “The main reason for this meeting is to approve the decision to call the Electoral Congress of the SP on July 20 after the end of the election process for the Congress.”
“Currently, we can be encouraged by the fact that in this process of re-energizing the party, we have had a significant increase in real membership, which means active membership. While we also had a significant participation in the elections that took place according to the principle of ‘one member, one vote’ for the delegates of the coming Congress of the SP”, said Rama.
The prime minister emphasized that from the re-energization process and from a total recovery of the entire membership of the SP, there are 93 thousand members registered and identified as such in the territory of the Republic of Albania.
“There are also 7,000 others who joined the SP after the closing of this registration in function of elections for delegates to the congress. But, we must keep in mind that in the case of party membership, it is not the same as in the case of general elections because we must take it for granted that every party member has the duty to be an active participant in the electoral processes where he is invited. However, the overall result is very positive”, said Rama. /p.s./
