TIRANA, April 26/ATA/ Deputy Prime Minister, at the same time Minister of Infrastructure and Energy Belinda Balluku stated today that water management is one of the conditions of the European Union imposed on Albania to become part of the European family.
During proceedings of the Integrated Water Resources Management Forum which was held in Albania, Balluku said that our country’s requirements and the staff who are working with these requirements have reached such a level that the European Union has positively assessed.
Balluku noted that the EU4Rivers program comes at the right time.
“It comes at the right moment, when our state will need to align a series of laws to bring them to the same level with those of the European Union “, stated Balluku.
She assured that this project will be rigorously followed and Albania will fulfill it according to the required standards.
The deputy prime minister said that Albania’s biggest challenge is not the drafting of laws and projects, but their implementation on the ground, and for this reason she asked for assistance from the countries of the European Union.
“We have good laws, but we are weak in their implementation on the ground. The perspective of water resources management is closely dependent on the success of this project”, she added./p.s./
