TIRANA, April 26 /ATA/ – The Minister of Interior Taulant Balla praised local police in the north-western Albanian region of Lezha on Friday for an antidrug operation targeting crime gangs and individuals that distribute and use drugs near schools.

“The State Police are vigilant at every school, at every public space and community and are hot on the heels of every wrongdoer and drug dealers. A suspect was arrested by the State Police in Lezha attempting to distribute cocaine and a significant number of doses were seized,” Balla wrote on the social media.

The State Police in Lezha arrested a 26-year-old suspect with intent to distribute 162 grams of cocaine in the coastal town of Shengjin.

Another suspect was arrested on drug possession and distribution charges as part of the anti-drug operation codenamed “Temple 2” in the coastal city of Durres.

The anti-drug operation and enforcement of the measures envisaged in the School Security Package continued also in other regions across the country.
