TIRANA, March 18 /ATA/ Prime Minister Edi Rama, through a post on former Twitter platform, reacted over the state of play in the process of dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, underlining the importance of implementing the Agreement for the Path to Normalization of Relations between Kosovo and Serbia and its Implementation Annex, to ensure stability and peace in Western Balkans.
“As we approach the 21st March European Council meeting, it’s crucial to remember that the implementation of the Agreement on the Path to Normalisation of Relations between Kosovo and Serbia, along with its Implementation Annex, is of the utmost importance for maintaining security, stability, and peace in the Western Balkans,” Rama writes.
“Mere acknowledgement of the Agreement being legally binding is not enough. To ensure progress, the Agreement and the Implementation Annex must be formally included as integral parts of Kosova and Serbia’s respective EU accession processes. Any delay in doing so only strengthens the status quo.”
“ And status quo about this strategic key for a peaceful, prosperous and European neighborhood in the middle of Europe doesn’t serve the security of Europe itself,” Rama concludes his post.
Today marks the first anniversary of the agreement signed in Ohrid between Kosovo and Serbia for the normalization of relations between the two countries.
