TIRANA, March 14 /ATA/ – The yields on the 12-month treasury bills (T-bills) decreased in the latest auction this week, reflecting the improved liquidity in the financial market, as well as the fall of the inflationary pressure on the country’s economy.
Data from the Bank of Albania show that the yield on the 12-month T-bills slightly fell to 3.61% from 3.63% in the previous auction held last month.
The Ministry of Finance and Economy sold a total of 11.9 billion lek worth of one-year Treasury bills, up from an initial bid of 8.5 billion lek at an auction this week, data by the central bank show.
The yield on the 12-month T-bills is pursuing a downward trend this year. The bills refinanced at Tuesday’s auction were issued a year ago at a weighted average yield of 3.91%, although the interest rate back then was significantly lower at 2.75%, according to central bank data.
