TIRANA, Feb 27 /ATA/ – The Ministry of Finance bid 2 billion lek worth of 15-year Treasury notes at an average yield of 7.94%, slightly down from 7.98% at the previous auction, whereas the total demand was around 2.26 billion lek.
The Ministry of Finance eventually raised a total of 1.835 billion lek worth of 15-year T-notes at the latest auction of the government securities held by the Bank of Albania on Monday.
The accepted yield and the T-note coupon was 7.94%, down from 7.98% at the previous auction last October. The yield, however, turned out higher than the7.3% coupon offered by the Ministry of Finance prior to the auction.
The rising yield on the government securities is driven by the increased amount bid by the Ministry of Finance.
Albanian government has issued 15-year T-notes since 2021 and 10 auctions have been held since then.
