TIRANA, Jan 16 /ATA/ – The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Igli Hasani stated Tuesday that “accepting the European Union proposals unconditionally, as the Prime Minister Albin Kurti did on October 26 last year, is the only way Albania sees Kosovo’s commitment vis-à-vis the international community.”
Asked at a joint press conference with his counterpart Donika Gërvalla in Pristina whether time has come for the EU to lift the punitive measures on Kosovo, Foreign Minister said: “My visit to Pristina is not about the punitive measures only. My visit to Kosovo aims at agreeing on the actions we should jointly carry out in the current year.”
“2024 is an important year, not only for Albania and Kosovo, but also for the entire international factor as elections will take place in the EU and in the United States and these are moments we should not waste,” Hasani said.
“Kosovo is delivering. It is an undeniable fact that the visa liberalization that entered into force since January 2024 will have a fresh impact on the country’s progress, economic and social development,” he said.
