TIRANA, January 1/ATA/ The government begins to apply today the progressive tax on the self-employed and the free professions.
The tax rate will be 15% and 23%.
The 15% tax will be applied for those with annual incomes of up to 14,000,000 Lekë. According to the Ministry of Finances, the tax will be estimated on the profit after there are subtracted the expenses and the minimum salary.
The other category of businesses that are included in the annual income over 14 million Lekë will be taxed at a tax rate of 23%.
The Ministry of Finance and Economy calculates that 70 to 90% of the total businesses have an annual income of up to 14 million Lekë per year. /p.s./
