Bilça Bridge, Demo: 60% of piles have been completed

TIRANA, Dec 29 /ATA/ Bilça Bridge, Berat, one of the most important strategic investments, is being built at a fast pace.
The mayor of Berat, Ervin Demo, said today that “60% of the piles have been completed, while the bridge is set to be delivered by 2024.”

According to him, this bridge will add one more neighborhood to Berat.
Demo described the Bilca bridge as one of the most challenging and major projects of 2023.

“The residents of the area have been waiting for more than 30 years for this investment, which creates opportunities for economic development,” Demo added.

This project was made possible thanks to the financing of the European Commission through the EBRD, in partnership with the Albanian Development Fund.

This Bridge turns Bilça into a neighborhood of the city and, moreover, expands the tourist package of Berat where visitors will reach ecotourism destinations in Bilçë and the surrounding areas just a few minutes away.
The bridge has a length of 268 meters and a superstructure width of 12.4 meters, which includes sidewalks and bicycle lanes.
