TIRANA, December 24/ATA/ The Fife of Gramsh is declared a national asset.
Minister of Culture Elva Margariti wrote in the social media that, “For the magical sound, for the mastery in the production of this musical instrument and the tradition that is inherited from generation to generation, Gramsh fifes are declared a national treasure”.
Margariti wrote further that, “The National Council of Intangible Cultural Heritage examined the request of the National Center of Traditional Activities, and decided to declare “Gramsh fife “National Value of Intangible Cultural Heritage”.
Gramsh fife is one of the most attractive and ancient instruments in the golden fund of Albanian musical heritage, as well as one of the most important documents of Albanian polyphonic instrumental music.
This instrument is considered an important part of traditional Albanian musical culture and represents one of the earliest forms of instrumental polyphony. /p.s./
