KFOR affirms commitment to maintain safe environment in Kosovo

PRISTINA, Dec 15 /ATA/ – The NATO-led mission in Kosovo stated Friday that KFOR is continuously evaluating the security situation in Kosovo in coordination with all counterparts.

KFOR statement follows an annual address to Parliament by President Vjosa Osmani earlier today. Osmani said that the deadly attack in Banjska, northern Kosovo in September, was just a warning.

“It showed clearly that Vucic is not interested in peace and danger is still eminent,” Osmani said.

President Osmani said that “failure to impose punitive measures on Serbia is encouraging that state to keep using violence.”

In a post on its official website, KFOR affirmed it is ready and fully committed to maintain safe environment for all people living in Kosovo.

“We are in close coordination with all counterparts and are continuously evaluating the security situation in Kosovo. KFOR is ready and fully committed to maintain a safe and secure environment for all people living in Kosovo – in accordance with UN Security Council Resolution 1244 of 1999 – and freedom of movement,” KFOR said in a post.
