TIRANA, Nov 12 /ATA/ – The United States Chargé d’Affaires to Albania David Wisner, Defense Attache Eric Cote and their families visited the beautiful city of Korça, south-eastern Albania, the U.S. Embassy in Tirana announced on Sunday.
During his visit, the U.S. diplomat met with an Embassy-supported English Language Fellow teaching English to residents of the city.
He also visited several business owners in the Bazaar (Pazar), who have benefited from the support of the Albanian American Development Foundation (AADF).
“The positive impact of the non-profit AADF’s work on the local community and economy was extraordinary,” the U.S. Embassy said.
During his visit to Korça, Wisner visited the first Albanian school, Mësonjëtorja, and participated in a special ceremony commemorating the Armistice of World War I.
He also visited Voskopojë and the Saint Nicholas Church that the United States helped to restore as the first Ambassador’s Fund for Cultural Preservation project in Albania in 2001.
