Opposition MP: Government projects insufficient health sector budget

TIRANA, Nov 12 /ATA/ –  The member of the Democratic Party’s chairmanship Seladin Jakupllari said Sunday that the 2024 health sector budget is insufficient.

In a press statement, the opposition lawmaker also claimed that the company contracted for the preventive check-up programme has been paid for the planned medical check-ups and not for the total visits already carried out in 2022.

“In this sector too, the proposed state budget, not only if fails to improve the population’s health situation, but it empties the pockets of the citizens. Albanian citizens continue paying a lot more for treatment of diseases that could be prevented through the medical check-ups, but the government has turned this programme into a tool for stealing through corruption schemes, instead of delivering care to citizens,” Jakupllari said.
