TIRANA, Nov 2 /ATA/ – Loan portfolio for households amounted to 267 million lek in the third quarter of 2023, the Bank of Albania said on Thursday.
Central bank data show that the loan portfolio for households rose 2.8% year-on-year or by around 7.2 million lek.
According to central bank, the coastal region of Durres has recorded highest growth in bank lending 44%, followed by Tirana with 3.3%, Elbasan with 2.6%, Korça, Vlora and Fieri with 1.4% to 2%.
BoA notes that the bank loan for the house purchase has decreased in all districts except Tirana that recorded an increase of 4.6%. Meanwhile, consumer loans have increased in all regions.The highest growth results in the county of Durrës with 24.8% and with 10.16% in Elbasan, while other regions have seen a lighter increase.
