TIRANA, Oct 26 /ATA/ Prime Minister Edi Rama on Thursday commended the Prime Minister of Kosovo for accepting the EU’s proposal to advance firmly towards an unblocking solution on ASMC, through self-management instruments, as a framework for upcoming negotiations.
“This is indeed an important milestone. The leaders of Kosovo and Serbia must show leadership and work closely with the Western allies of the region to promptly implement the Basic Agreement on the normalization of relations without any further delays,” said Rama.
Our region deserves peace, stability, and cooperation for a shared, better future, rather than conflicts, blame games, and setbacks that harm us all.
Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, wrapped up the scheduled meetings with the European leaders in the sidelines of an EU summit in Brussels.
The EU spokesman, Peter Stano, said earlier that the meetings are held in the follow-up to the process that kicked off last weekend, when the so-called “big five” of Western envoys visited Pristina and Belgrade.
The “Big Five” visited Pristina and Belgrade on October 21 and presented a plan for the normalization of relations.
Stano confirmed that the plan contains a “modern European proposal” for the statute of the Association of Serb-majority municipalities in Kosovo, while, according to EU sources, it asks Serbia to confirm its support for the implementation of the Ohrid Agreement on the normalization of relations.
