TIRANA, October 24 /ATA/ The works on the embankment of the Dunavec River in the village of Ravonik in Korça aim at preventing flooding of agricultural lands in this area.
Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Anila Denaj closely inspected the works worth 16 million ALL, financed by the Albanian government.
Accompanied by Mayor of Korça Sotiraq Filo and experts on the ground, Denaj got acquainted with the works for the protective infrastructure that were carried out in accordance with technical protocols.
The minister said that, “Thanks to this investment it is eliminated the risk of flooding from river flows for 12 hectares of agricultural land and the road connecting the plots”.
On the threshold of the winter season, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has intervened in a series of irrigation and drainage infrastructure works or in river embankments in some areas of the country with the aim of their rehabilitation and maintenance so that to prevent flooding of agricultural lands from rainfall./r.e/p.s./
