Mazniku at Riyadh summit: Environment- friendly policies, a priority

TIRANA, Oct 11 /ATA/ Minister of State for Local Government, Arbjan Mazniku, attended the “Urban Transition Mission (UTM)” summit, which was held on October 10 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The mission of this summit is to mobilize decision-makers at all levels of government in prioritizing projects and policies that are friendly to the environment and nature and enable transition to clean energy in all sectors and especially in local government.

The summit focuses on developing a sustainable infrastructure for the future, which will withstand changes, while also exploring the connection with transport, energy and housing.

The conclusions of this summit will serve for many pilot projects that will be tested by UTM cities.
Regarding his participation in the summit, Mazniku said that this is an excellent platform for the exchange of experiences and know-how.

“Today, more than ever, cities have the agility and resilience to advance towards a sustainable development in harmony with nature. We are committed to building linking bridges with international platforms such as UTM, where Albanian cities can apply for support, expertise and funding,” he said.

For the minister, the summit also serves as a linking bridge for the cities, which will be able to use it for support and expertise in the pathway towards a sustainable development in harmony with nature.
