Rama: Negotiation process is not for EU, but to transform our countries

TIRANA, August 28/ATA/ Prime Minister Edi Rama told the panel of leaders at the Bled Strategic Forum, which is taking place in Slovenia, that the integration process should be seen as a process not to convince the European Union, but to transform our country.

Rama said that the negotiations are the transfer of knowledge into the process of state-building.

“First of all, I say that I am not impatient at all. I was impatient long before Albania started the EU accession negotiations. We are doing our job as the whole process is not to convince the EU that it is good for them, but to transform our countries. Negotiations for me imply the transfer of knowledge that humanity has created into state-building,” said Rama.

While sharing the view of Montenegrin Prime Minister Dritan Abazovic, PM Rama said that the EU carries in itself an important principle. The EU was created as a peace project, hence, Ukraine should be seen as a possible member country. /p.s./
