Rama: Financial support for artisans

TIRANA, Aug 25 /ATSH/ Artisanship and crafts remain an added value in the economy of a country, which, relying on tradition and history, adds a new dimension to the development of these products’ trade, inside and outside the borders.

To revitalize and further develop this sector, with so much potential, the government has approved the establishment of the Artisan Fund 2023, in support of the craft business.

Prime Minister Edi Rama announced on Friday that anyone who is an artisan and likes to promote the products can apply for financial support.

“Apply with your idea and bring to life an innovative tourism product that promotes sustainable rural tourism,” this is the appeal in the video shared by Rama on social media.

The fund is intended to boost development of the craft sector in Albania, creating an enabling environment for more sustainable economic activities and the creation of new jobs.

This ancient and valuable sector is also closely related to agritourism, which is developing in recent years in many regions of the country, with heritage of handicrafts becoming a key contributor, as a trend that attracts a lot of foreign tourists.
