TIRANA, Aug 7 /ATA/ Minister of Finance and Economy, Delina Ibrahimaj, stated on Monday that Albania continues to record moderate and slowing inflation rates.
“The annual change in the consumer price index in July 2023 is 4.2%, while a year ago this change was 7.5%,” said Ibrahimaj.
The main component of the growth and impact of total inflation throughout last year, but also during this year, was that of food and non-alcoholic beverages, which also has the main share in the basket expenses of Albanian citizens.
Ibrahimaj published the statistics on inflation figures during this year, which show that from the level of 7.23% in January of this year, the inflation has decreased to the level of 4.2% in the month of July.
However, this inflation has continued to be significantly lower than the inflation of this category in the countries of the region and the countries of the European Union.
