TIRANA, July 26 /ATA/ The multidisciplinary team of surgeons, urologists and resuscitators of the Surgical Hospital at the “Mother Teresa” University Hospital Center (QSUT) have successfully performed a delicate, life-saving operation.
Prime Minister Edi Rama shared today on social media another remarkable story of the fight for life.
After a series of examinations and the joint consultation of several specialist doctors, the team successfully performed removal of three tumors in the kidney, the left adrenal gland and the spleen, preserving the only kidney the patient had.
The post-operative progress was very good and the 67-year-old woman has already left the hospital in good health.
Rama congratulated the team of doctors who successfully performed this intervention, Dr. Arvit Llazani, Dr. Aurel Janko, Dr. Zamira Hysenaj, Dr. Orient Hasanaj and nurses, Eliora Goxhabelliu and Mirjana Mema.
Urologist Aurel Janko stated that the patient only complained of high blood pressure and the examinations revealed that she had 3 tumors. “The case was a challenge because it was in a patient with one single kidney. The intervention went well and all three tumors were removed while preserving the kidney,” he said.
