TIRANA, July 26 /ATA/ In context of his meetings in the local police directorates, the new Minister of the Interior Taulant Balla was with the leaders of the capital’s metropolitan Police.
He asked Tirana Police, which bears a specific weight in the work volume of the State Police, to increase their efforts for more results and more security.
According to him, in these summer months, when there is a high number of foreign visitors and tourists, the public order and traffic police should be more present on the ground to help and prevent any incident.
Further on, Balla stated that the digital revolution in the State Police must be carried forward with a much higher pace and efficiency. According to him, policing in the community should be promoted to a completely new level, with a focus on citizen concerns, which are not only the reason why the State Police exists, but are also irreplaceable partners.
“The digital revolution in the State Police will have to be carried forward at a much higher pace and efficiency than until now, and the Digital Commissariat will take on a weight and first hand importance. That application should be the gateway where every citizen can not only have access from every smartphone or computer, but also receive a quick response, not only with words in all cases, but also with deeds in case the complaint is fair”, said Balla.
The minister drew the attention of the Police to do more and increase the range of services offered to citizens online.
“At the time when the government is working to introduce artificial intelligence to the e-Albania platform, in the process of European integration, in the process of public tenders and other sectors and when various departments have made great leaps in the path of the digital revolution, the State Police from being a vanguard of digitization today is not keeping up with this advance”, underlined Balla. /p.s./
