TIRANA, June 21/ATA/ Exports of agricultural products returned to double-digit growth for the third consecutive month in May, making the entire five-month period remain positive. Official statistics confirm the steady growing trend of this sector, which has started since the beginning of this year.
Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Frida Krifca referred to the Foreign Trade report, published by the INSTAT this week, according to which, “exports of agricultural products for the month of May 2023 and the period January-May 2023 (5M 2023) show an increase dominated by the group “Food, drinks, tobacco”.
For the 5th month period, this group has expanded by 15% due to the good performance it has achieved since the beginning of the year.
According to statistics during the 5-Month (January-May 2023) exports of the “Food, drinks, tobacco” goods group increased by +11.3% in quantity).
Minister Krifca emphasized that the increase in exports has been made possible by the expansion of local agricultural production thanks to the effort and tireless work of farmers, but also thanks to the support of the government.
“Appropriate policies have supported the production-gathering and standardization chain of products that has strengthened the position of “Made in Albania” in the export markets, bringing us closer to the fulfillment of the objective of 1 billion USD of agricultural exports within the year 2030″, she said.
