TIRANA, June 21 /ATA/ The general director of INSTAT, Elsa Dhuli, stated on Wednesday that the first results of the Population and Housing Census, which will start on September 18, will be released in June 2024.
During the presentation of the annual report at the Parliamentary Commission for Economy and Finance, Dhuli considered positive approach and participation of the population as essential to the success of the Census.
“The success of Census hinges on the positive approach and participation of the population in it. Therefore, during 2023, we will pay attention to the implementation and monitoring of the communication strategy, which is based on the communication with the parties of interest and the public in general. The communication campaign will promote the Census by informing the public about its purpose, as well as help strengthen the credibility of the data and the institutions responsible for its production. The campaign includes the use of all media instruments, broadcast channels and other communication techniques,” she said.
According to her, the field counting of the population and housing will begin on September 18, 2023 and will continue for a period of six weeks, until October 28, 2023.
“The first results will be published in June 2024, while those detailed at the regional level will be published in December 2024,” said Dhuli.
For Census, nearly 7,800 people will be engaged as surveyors, controllers and supervisors throughout the country.
