Motion of no confidence against Kurti is unlikely

PRISTINA, June 10 /ATA/ The initiative of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) to put forward a motion of no confidence against the Government of Kosovo is unlikely to materialize.

Ramush Haradinaj-led party is aware of the number of votes needed in the Assembly to take this step, yet they emphasize that if Prime Minister Kurti perseveres with this approach towards international allies, they will resort to all the mechanisms in place for him to step down.

The Democratic Party of Kosovo is also skeptical about the overthrow of Prime Minister Kurti in the current circumstances, while the ruling party is convinced that the government is doing a good job and stands on a firm footing even in the Assembly.

The deputy of AKF, Time Kadrijaj, tells KosovaPress that Kurti has escalated in relation to international partners, especially the United States, but they still do not have the numbers in the Assembly to overthrow the Government of Kosovo.

Despite levelling a string of criticisms against Prime Minister Kurti, the deputy of KDP, Blerta Deliu, says that in the current circumstances it is difficult for the executive to be overthrown through a motion of no confidence.

The deputy of the Self-Determination Parliamentary Group, from the Dare List, Haxhi Avdyli, is critical of these ideas put forward by the opposition in the current situation.

He asks the opposition if the motion will be undertaken in cooperation with the Serbian president, Aleksandar Vucic.

The Alliance for the Future of Kosovo has considered necessary the initiative for the motion of no confidence in the Kurti Government, amid the developments in the north and the opposition of international allies for the elected mayors to exercise their mandate in the municipal facilities.
